Restoration Services

Internal Restoration
- Removal of all drivers
- Toys, socks and other items retrieved from bass ports
- Crossover component test
(compared to original factory specifications and defective components replaced) - Internal wiring integrity test
(original wire replaced with woven cable and soldered joints if required) - Individual driver test
- Modern 4mm terminals installed (if required)
- All drivers sealed into the cabinets with high quality sealant tape/gasket
- Electrical and listening tests
- Internal Restoration Certificate Issued
Full Restoration
- Removal of all drivers, crossovers, detachable bass ports, internal damping and cabling
- Toys, socks and other items retrieved from bass ports
- Cabinet preparation (can include light sanding to remove old varnish and scracthes)
- Final cabinet cleaning and application of oil or varnish
- Crossover component test
(compared to original factory specifications and defective components replaced) - Internal wiring integrity test
(original wire replaced with woven cable and soldered joints if required) - Individual driver test
- Internal damping, crossovers and cabling installed
- Modern 4mm terminals installed (if required)
- All drivers sealed into the cabinets with high quality sealant tape/gasket
- New grill cloth
- Electrical and listening tests
- Full Restoration Certificate Issued
Restoration Service Feedback
"After decades of outstanding performance, my JBL L100 Century speakers
recently ceased to deliver the big soundstage quality that the JBL
brand
is renowned for. I made exhaustive and diligent enquiries to top audio
experts
in the UK as to which loudspeaker technician was most qualified and
possessed
the expertise to renovate the speakers for me. The response I received from them

was unequivocal and unanimous: Andrew of Anapeach Loudspeaker

Experts in any field of work are invariably in constant demand, so Andrew having
a
waiting list of customers with speakers in need of renovation was
understandable
(and reassuring), but given how highly recommended he was, I was prepared to
wait
until he could take my JBL’s into his workshop.
Andrew’s examination, analysis and recommendations as to renovation of
the
speakers confirmed to me that the JBL’s were in safe hands. His analysis
and
recommendations were professional, precise, detailed and thorough to the point of
being clinical.
I agreed to all of Andrew’s recommendations and he began work on renovating the
JBL’s,
during which time he sent me regular updates by email with explanations regarding
progress
including “before and after” high-resolution photographs to illustrate each step of
the renovation.
Thanks to Andrew’s expertise and experience, the JBL’s now sound even better than
when
I bought them new. Andrew explained this improvement as being due to the exactly
matched
components that he installed so that each speaker is performing how the design was
intended,
because when the speakers were first manufactured there was anything up to a 20%
tolerance
on the crossover components, so even fresh from the factory each speaker could be
slightly different.
So the original excellent quality of the JBL’s have now benefited from Andrew’s
bespoke renovation
which makes them perfectly identical and sounding better than when they were
new.
My advice to any serious audiophile with speakers in need of first-rate renovation
is to get in touch with Andrew."
